As mentioned in my previous post... I was asked by Rotopolpress to be part in their annual Group Show which opens the 25th of November. I was really excited and spent some time thinking which kind of picture I wanted to draw...I decided to draw a more subtle villian, who might have good intentions but does bad things nevertheless. Maybe a ghost of the forest who is angry about human beings destroying her forest and killing its inhabitants. So she turns them into trees and other plants.
Here are some sketches:
At first I wanted to draw a darker picture, but I had problems with the colors and didn't like the background in the first sketch, so I redrew the background and started new on the colors.When I finished the picture I was not sure if it was villainous enough and I guess that's mainly because of the colors. I think I have to create some dark illustrations next to practise that a bit more.

kassel!!! wer ist denn da?!?!
schade, dass die figuren nicht noch mehr ausdruck haben, bzw. finde zumindest ich den ausdruck des waldgeistes eher teilnahmslos. auch der baum hat noch einen zu relaxten blick. farben und stil find ich aber ganz groß. was es auf jeden fall zu einem meiner favoriten macht!

Beim Geist wollte ich das sogar, aber bei dem Typen fiel es mir auch schwer... Ich hatte eine Variante von seinem Gesicht auf eine andere Ebene gezeichnet, aber war dann nicht mehr zufrieden und habs dann so gelassen...
Mein erster spontaner Gedanke war ob das in die selbe Richtung geht, wie Stevens Bilder ... mit dem dicken Ast im Mund. ^^

Hmm... für mich schaut das aus, als als würde der Typ den Ast auskotzen. Von einer Verwandlung sehe ich leider überhaupt nichts.
Die Haare von ihr sehen toll aus, mit dem Muster da druff. Schön lichtfunkelich natur-ich!
